Raj Krishnasamy, P.E., President and Principal Engineer of Tierra South Florida, Inc. (TSF), is a Florida State registered Geotechnical Engineer with over 29 years of experience. Raj oversees the geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and inspection services operations. His experience consists of successfully completing over 3,500 public and private projects, highlighted by 120+ FDOT projects, design-build projects totaling close to $2 billion in construction costs, and prominent projects such as Florida Atlantic University’s Stadium, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport’s South Runway Expansion (featuring the largest MSE wall in Florida), and I-95 Express Lanes. He serves as Project Manager for continuing contracts with over 20 Florida public agencies with a history of repeatedly retaining those contracts through successful, cost-effective and prompt execution of each task order. His daily involvement with the in-house and field operations of the construction and geotechnical services departments provides him the “hands-on” experience and knowledge of current construction codes and construction practices throughout the State of Florida. Raj focuses on providing the client with a consistently accurate, cost-effective quality product that is delivered on time and within budget.
Raj holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Christian Brothers University (1987) and a M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering from University of Memphis (1995). He has been as member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Florida Engineering Society (FES), and Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers (FICE) for many years and has served on their boards as ASCE Memphis, Past President, FES Treasurer, FICE Past Program Chairman, and currently as Director of FICE DBE/MBE. He also currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Pine Jog Environmental Education Center and Vista Park Contract Park Condominium Association. He proudly supports and provided engineering services for Els Center for Autism, a 26-acre research and educational facility that gives children around the world on the autism spectrum access to best practices in education and therapy. Raj lives in South Florida with his wife and son, and he is an avid golfer.
FRANCOIS THOMAS, P.E.
PRINCIPAL MATERIALS ENGINEER

Mr. Thomas has 22 years of experience in Geotechnical and Construction Materials Inspection Services, managing numerous projects involving subsurface investigation, laboratory testing programs and evaluating construction activities throughout South Florida. Francois has extensive experience in deep and shallow foundation systems, soil stabilization methods, grouting, pavement sections evaluation. He has been involved in construction monitoring and supervision for private and government facilities, and has monitored and inspected the construction of a large number of civil and structural designs involving earthwork, concrete, and asphalt operations.
KUMAR VEDULA, P.E.
PRINCIPAL GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER

Mr. Vedula is a Florida-Registered Professional Engineer with 20 years of geotechnical and construction materials testing experience. He specializes in geotechnical projects involving foundation design, slope stability analysis, WEAP analysis and interpreting PDA reports, excavation support, and construction inspection. Additional experience includes foundation inspections (shallow and deep foundations), soil modification (dynamic compaction, stone columns), preloading, excavations, backfilling, and post construction monitoring. Kumar has served as a principal inspector on numerous surcharging and settlement evaluations of organic laden soils assignments. His project experience includes over 20 high rise buildings, as well as foundation engineering for bridges, roadways, utilities, schools and government facilities. Authored and co-authored papers published in national and international conferences.
N. MANOHARAN, PH.D.

Dr. Manoharan "Mano" has 19 years of experience in providing geotechnical services to projects of diversified complexity focusing primarily on transportation projects. His experience includes soil investigation, foundation designs, piling works, ground improvement works, slope stability analysis, MSE walls and earth works. He is extremely knowledgeable regarding the analysis and evaluation of field and laboratory data, performing in-situ soil testing, in-place permeability testing and geophysical explorations. He has performed studies including monitoring vibrations of structures during construction and evaluating bearing capacity and settlements for different types of shallow and deep foundation systems. In addition, he has provided evaluation of embankment design of retaining walls, sheet piling systems, slope stability analysis of conventional and reinforced embankments, and evaluation of drilled shaft, driven pile, Augercast pile, and pile static load tests. He has successfully completed over 100 FDOT projects, principally in Districts 4, 6, and Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise.
WENBIN ZHAO, P.E., PH.D.

Dr. Zhao, "Wen", has 10 years of experience in civil engineering, specializing in geotechnical engineering and construction materials. His principal areas of study include numerical analysis for geotechnical structures, asphaltic concrete properties, flexible pavement construction QA/QC, Warm Mix Asphalt (WMA), and porous asphalt pavements. Wen has served as staff engineer on numerous FDOT transportation/roadway projects, such as HEFT All Electronic Toll (AET) Phase IV in Miami-Dade County, SR 710 Big John Monahan Bridge Replacement in Martin County, Expansion of Runway 9R-27L at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, and SR-9/I-95 from south of SR-614/Indrio Road to St. Lucie/Indian River County Line. Wen is also certified by the FDOT for Pile Driving Inspection.
SENIOR CADD MANAGER, GEOTECHNICAL FIELD COORDINATOR

Mr. Oliva has 19 years of experience providing geotechnical and construction materials testing services. As Senior CADD Manager and Field Supervisor, Jose has planned and coordinated over 1,500 transportation, residential and commercial projects. Jose is responsible for supervising field work and all CADD/Microstation activities used to develop and generate plans and profiles. He also maintains a database of related information in GIS. In addition, Jose is an experienced Laboratory and CTQP certified QC Manager. Jose is also MOT certified by MDX. He is also responsible for coordinating the drill crew. Prior to mobilizing the drills to the site, he performs site reconnaissance to determine accessibility for truck/track mounted drill rigs. He also coordinates utility clearances to avoid damage to underground utilities.
